When in doubt: layers!

Honestly, I don't know what to wear any more.  One day it's freezing, the next it's 11 degrees Celsius. (Yes, I still operate in Celsius after 15+ years in the United States. Just trust me on this one: it should NOT be 11 degrees Celsius in January in NYC).

In case you are confused: on the left you see usually appropriate attire for NYC in January; on the right you see usually inappropriate attire for NYC in January. Except, with the weather we've been having, both would work. Hello global warming (or erratic climate change , as it really should have been).

Luckily, at Kær we are hugely into layers, which not only happens to be warranted by the weather, but also just is a fun way to get more out of your wardrobe (life + lemons = layers). As an example, I might use the dramatic Everything Coming Up Roses vest as outerwear, with a sweater, on milder days, and as a triple layer under my floor-length trusted puffy coat on those freeze bomb days.

True layering is, however, even more fun. Observe:

Starting with our shiny white Amelia dress , how could you possibly go wrong? Add a dramatic vest when the temperature starts dropping, and top it all off with a bomber jacket - up or down - until you no longer are cold.
