Honestly, when it comes to our super popular polkadot print, we've heard it all. Because it's actually a little bit difficult to identify at first glance.
The origin story of the print is simple. I was working through our stock of amazing cherry blossoms photos to figure out which one would be the best to use for this bomber jacket.
In the process, I found a super clear shot of cherry blossom buds, all clenched up, right next to a strangely translucent bloom. One of the buds was particularly sharp.
My original plan was to arrange several buds in a random pattern. But I like polkadots. A lot. I also like slightly odd combinations of sweet, eery, highfalutin, and street-ready. Thus, was born our cherry blossom bud polkadot textile.
But what I truly enjoy are the questions and compliments this print always gets. Most people think it's a skull. And who doesn't like skulls in a polkadot formation? Some say a brain, some a jellyfish, and I've heard elephant's behind more than once. Whatever people think it is, it's a guaranteed four compliments a day whether you go for the Marie dress or the pencil skirt.
