If you are like us, mid-December is the time you suddenly wake up to the fact that the year is almost over... and that your end-of-year shopping is anything but done.
Fear not: good things come to those who wait!
Many December markets open late in the season, showcasing unique products that are created ethically, locally, or both. Here are our favorite two:
1. Brooklyn Makers Market: Holiday Edition (by @shwickmarket)
Brooklyn style is world-renowned. It's been called "eclectic, creative, and ... not about chasing labels." And what says Brooklyn-style quite like products made right here in the Borough? At the Brooklyn Makers Market: Holiday Edition, dozens of Brooklyn-based creatives will showcase their amazing apparel, accessories, homeware, and more. Whether you are buying for friends or family, your gifts will be just as hip[ster] as yourself.
The Brooklyn Makers Market: Holiday Edition will take place on December 17-18, 2016, at the historic Williamsburg Savings Bank building, adjacent to the Williamsburg Bridge and right across from the famous Peter Luger steakhouse.
2. Tropicália in Berlin
TROPICALIA Pop Up Stores work with independent designers from across the world. Created by Joy Fagundes, a Brazilian jewelry designer and librarian and sociologist, TROPICALIA makes contemporary multicultural sustainable fashion accessible to everyone. The focus is on new designers who use unique fabrics and materials to produce exceptional wearable art.
Next up: Berlin TROPICALIA Pop Up Store from December 18th through December 30th, 2016. The market will take place at the stylish Postbahnhof, Str. der Pariser Kommune 8. Perfect for pre- and post-holiday shopping for family, friends, and yourself. We all need a bit of pampering!
